Moving to Canada

The 2 routes into Canada we have on record, and what each one actually requires. This is published information, not an assessment of your case.

Canada — Express Entry (Federal Skilled Worker / CEC / Trades)

Talent
What it actually requires

Express Entry manages three programmes: the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. You create a profile and enter a pool, candidates are scored on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), and those with the most points are invited in rounds to apply for permanent residence. Documents to prepare include a language test result and proof of education. (PR: direct PR)

This country regulates advice about its own routes, so we publish the rule and stop there. A registered adviser or lawyer is the right next step.

Canada also has a citizenship-by-descent route, which is a different kind of claim: it can mean you already hold the right rather than qualifying for one.
