Moving to Belgium

The 3 routes into Belgium we have on record, and what each one actually requires. This is published information, not an assessment of your case.

Belgium — Professional card (carte professionnelle / beroepskaart)

Business
What it actually requires

Third-country nationals need it for self-employed activity. Granted by the REGION (Flanders, Brussels, Wallonia, German-speaking Community - separate procedures); show economic added value for the region, relevant expertise (diplomas or ~3 yrs sector experience), clean criminal record, medical certificate. Card max 5 years (initial ~2-year probation typical); pair with D visa for residence. Flanders fast-tracks innovative start-ups. (PR: permanent residence after 5 years)

Belgium also has a citizenship-by-descent route, which is a different kind of claim: it can mean you already hold the right rather than qualifying for one.
